Here is my humble home page. I have an awful lot of fun things going on… but I am very remiss in updating my page! Forgive me, I’d just rather travel and knit than promote stuff!
Iceland in Spring of 2016 – 1 spot remaining
How would you like to take a knitting trip to Iceland with me from April 29th – May 8th 2016? This is your chance to experience the stunning volcanic landscapes and breathtaking scenery of this island, and to learn about the Icelandic knitting traditions.
Not only this amazing destination, but you’ll be in the company of other knitters led by me (Amy Detjen). Hands on classes with local knitters, a visit to the local textile industry and wool shops time to knit in our group, and whale watching.
I have been leading really fun tours to Ireland and Scotland (see below), and this year I’m adding Iceland to the mix.
Scotland in June of 2016 – SOLD OUT
How about Scotland, from June 18th – 29th 2016? Such an amazing time we had last year, I cannot wait to go back and renew acquaintances with new Scottish friends.
We’ll do hands on classes with local knitters, visit a traditional kilt maker, visit Shetland and the Jamieson’s of Shetland mill, meet with amazing island knitters (Hazel Tindall and Donna Smith), and so many more amazing things.
Ireland in September of 2016 – still room!
Saving the best for last – my heart’s home – Ireland. The tour goes from Sept 16-28, and goes to many of my favorite places on the planet. This is my fourth tour to Ireland, so I have broken in my driver/guide to know just what we want to look for along the way!
- We’ll visit Doolin, Dingle, Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny, Dublin and many spots between.
- We’ll stop by Hedgehog Fibers, the Cushendale Woollen Mills, and The Constant Knitter.
- We’ll meet with the folks who run The Wool Shop website, and some of their local knitting friends.
- We’ll knit our way through the most beautiful country on earth
This class will help you get comfortable knitting a colorwork hat before you succeed at knitting an approachable stranded colorwork cardigan or pullover pattern. Learn to knit with two colors with this class!
I have an online knitting class at Craftsy. The photo below shows me during filming, with my trusted cameraman, Jarrod. This class is all about yoke sweaters and customizing your knitting!

Have you listened to the the Knitcircus podcast? You might just love it! Jaala Spiro and Amy Detjen sit around a kitchen table and talk about knitting. OK, it’s more interesting than it sounds…
